Senior Public Health HIV Technical Advisor (Benin)

About the role

The Senior Public Health HIV Technical Advisor will be embedded within Benin's National AIDS Control Program (NACP) at the Ministry of Health. Reporting to the Department of State, the advisor will provide strategic and technical leadership for HIV/AIDS service delivery in Benin and up to 20% effort for neighboring Togo.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs in alignment with the U.S. Presidential Executive Order and the America First Global Health Strategy.
• Provide technical guidance on budgeting, resource allocation, and cost‑effective service delivery.
• Coordinate with the NACP, international partners, and donor agencies to ensure integrated and effective program execution.
• Support the Ministry of Health in delivering life‑saving humanitarian assistance (LHA) related to HIV/AIDS.
• Travel periodically to Togo to extend technical support as needed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in public‑health program management, specifically HIV/AIDS.
• Proven ability to work within government ministries and multilateral donor environments.
• Strong understanding of U.S. government health strategies and executive directives.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills for high‑level stakeholder engagement.
