About the role
The People and Culture Assistant provides administrative and operational support to UNICEF’s Human Resources team in Cotonou. Working under the supervision of the HR Specialist, the role ensures smooth delivery of HR services for all staff categories while complying with UNICEF policies.
Key responsibilities
- Support business partnering activities and HR advisory functions.
- Process entitlements and benefits for local staff.
- Assist in recruitment, placement and onboarding processes.
- Contribute to organization design, job classification and staffing plans.
- Support learning, capacity development and training coordination.
- Provide general office and administrative assistance to the HR unit.
Required profile
- Secondary education (or equivalent) in a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, job classification, organization design or HR operations.
- Fluency in French and intermediate proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of the Beninese context and experience in international or humanitarian settings is desirable.
Required skills
- Proficiency with HR information systems.
- Strong computer literacy and competence with standard office software.
