Construction Engineer (Temporary, 3 months) – Cotonou

About the role

The Construction Engineer will report to the Supply and Logistics Specialist and provide technical support for UNICEF's construction activities in Benin. The role involves planning, supporting procurement, and monitoring construction works to meet programme needs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual construction workplan.
• Collaborate with UNICEF programmes, operations and government counterparts.
• Develop design and technical documents.
• Support the procurement process for construction contracts.
• Monitor construction projects on site to ensure quality and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in project monitoring, site supervision, quality assurance or related technical roles.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
• Experience in humanitarian or UN contexts, green building compliance, and liaison with government officials is desirable.
