Associate Operations Officer (IFC)

About the role

The Associate Operations Officer will join the Country Advisory and Economics (CAE) unit for North, West, and Central Africa within the Africa Vice Presidency of the International Finance Corporation. Reporting to the CAE North, West and Central Africa Manager, the role supports the delivery of diagnostic, strategic, and policy‑engagement work that underpins IFC’s 3.0 strategy in emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for CAE engagements across the IFC Africa West 1 cluster (Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Guinea).
• Assist in country and sector diagnostics that inform both IFC operations and broader World Bank Group policy.
• Contribute to the development of strategic recommendations aimed at removing obstacles to private‑sector growth.
• Help bridge IFC and IDA initiatives by facilitating policy dialogue and data‑driven insights.
• Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Understanding of private‑sector development challenges in low‑income and fragile contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams across several African countries.
