Chief Social Policy Officer (P-4) – UNICEF Benin

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior professional to lead social policy programming in Benin. The Chief Social Policy will guide the development and implementation of policies that reduce child poverty, expand social protection and improve public investment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership for the social policy team and coordinate with education, health, child protection and other sectors.
• Improve data collection and analysis on child poverty and vulnerability to inform policy and programme decisions.
• Develop and plan social protection programmes that increase coverage and impact for children.
• Advise government and partners on the use of public finance and budgeting for child‑focused investments.
• Strengthen advocacy, partnership building and governance mechanisms to promote child‑sensitive social policies.
• Oversee UNICEF programme management related to social policy, ensuring results‑oriented delivery.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
• At least eight years of relevant professional experience in policy analysis, advocacy or social protection.
