Coverage Evaluation Survey Consultant for Onchocerciasis MDA

About the role

Sightsavers is seeking an experienced consultancy team to independently conduct a Post‑Mass Drug Administration Coverage Evaluation Survey (CES) for onchocerciasis in Benin. The team will validate the 2026 MDA coverage data and provide evidence‑based recommendations to improve future campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a large‑scale, population‑based coverage evaluation survey following WHO standards.
• Apply cluster sampling methodologies and manage complex survey logistics across endemic districts.
• Collect, clean, and analyse household‑level data to assess MDA coverage among eligible populations (≥5 years).
• Produce a comprehensive report with findings, validation of coverage figures, and actionable recommendations for the Ministry of Health and Sightsavers.
• Ensure independence and transparency of the evaluation process.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) with a Master’s in Public Health, Epidemiology, Tropical Medicine, Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field; PhD highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in public‑health epidemiology, programme evaluation, and statistical analysis of large datasets.
• Proven track record designing and supervising household surveys, especially Coverage Evaluation Surveys.
• Strong familiarity with the public‑health system and survey implementation context in Benin or similar Sub‑Saharan settings.
• Experience supporting Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) programmes and aligning with WHO guidelines.
