Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in managing UNICEF’s operations in Benin, ensuring that assets, resources and processes are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals and child‑focused outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Operations team to maintain technical competence and promote career progression.
• Champion value‑for‑money initiatives and oversee financial management to achieve organizational goals.
• Enhance risk management practices and strengthen internal controls.
• Drive operational centralisation and optimisation for efficiency gains.
• Strengthen internal and external partnerships and provide oversight of financial management across the office.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master) in Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Public Finance or related fields, or a professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA, Expert Comptable) with valid membership.
• Relevant experience in operations, finance, supply chain, HR, IT, project management or similar functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage resources and implement strategic initiatives.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial management and public finance principles.
• Understanding of risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with operational centralisation and optimisation.
