Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) provides strategic business partnership to the Head of Office in a large UNICEF country office. This temporary six‑month appointment supports the management of office resources, operational performance and risk mitigation to ensure effective delivery of programmes for children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office in overseeing day‑to‑day operations and ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s strategic priorities.
• Monitor and optimise the use of UNICEF assets, budgets and procurement processes.
• Provide advice on innovative management practices and drive operational improvements.
• Support risk assessment, mitigation planning and compliance with internal policies.
• Coordinate with senior management to track performance indicators and report on operational results.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public administration, business management or a related field.
• Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in senior operational or managerial roles within international organisations or NGOs.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment and to influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
