Finance Supervisor

About the role

The Finance Supervisor will lead the country‑level finance function, ensuring that all processes, internal controls, bookkeeping and cost‑saving initiatives comply with Hapag‑Lloyd policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee finance activities for the country, maintaining integrity of processes, internal controls and bookkeeping.
• Manage escalations related to accounts receivable, payable and general ledger.
• Prepare and adjust budgets, produce quarterly forecasts and monthly trend analysis of overhead costs.
• Coordinate month/quarter/year‑end closures in line with company guidelines.
• Lead external and internal audits, ensuring unqualified audit reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate balance‑sheet and income‑statement reconciliations.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives and prepare risk reports.
• Collaborate with legal counsel and the Country Manager on legal claims.
• Verify customer credit requests and support cash‑flow management.
• Maintain local tax compliance, including timely filing and payment.
• Implement Hapag‑Lloyd global standards and local regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
• Chartered accounting certification.
• Experience in a shipping company or a related industry.
• Outstanding communication skills and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting, finance, tax and legal documentation.
