Manager 1 – Welfare & Self‑Reliance

About the role

The Church seeks a dedicated Manager to lead Welfare and Self‑Reliance initiatives across the assigned service area. This role supports members in achieving temporal and spiritual self‑sufficiency through coordinated programs, training, and resource development.

Key responsibilities

• Support local Church leaders in planning, implementing, and evaluating self‑reliance programs, including goal setting and facilitator training.
• Deliver general and specialized welfare training for leaders and community partners, covering onboarding, resource updates, and digital tools.
• Travel throughout the service area to build and maintain relationships with employers, educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations.
• Serve as the primary contact for urgent welfare needs, preventative measures, and emergency or humanitarian requests.
• Provide technical training, mentorship, and ongoing support to ward and stake self‑reliance specialists.
• Monitor program effectiveness, generate reports, and recommend improvements.
• Complete administrative duties such as progress and expense reporting.

Required profile

• Current valid temple recommend.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing or related field (master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of professional experience, including work with mid‑ to senior‑level management, start‑ups, sales, marketing, or business development.
• Proven ability to train large groups and mentor individuals.
• Leadership experience with understanding of welfare principles and ability to influence Church leaders.
• Knowledge of employment and labor regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
