Senior Specialist, Content Translation (F/M) – Cotonou

About the role

The Senior Specialist in Content Translation will lead the conversion of English‑language eLearning, training videos, and communications into French for non‑English‑speaking audiences. The role combines linguistic expertise with project management to ensure high‑quality, culturally appropriate content.

Key responsibilities

• Translate eLearning modules, instructor‑led training, video narration, and email communications at a rate of 9+ words per minute.
• Conduct quality reviews of translations performed by internal staff and external vendors, providing corrective feedback.
• Create and integrate French subtitle files for video and eLearning assets.
• Record and edit audio narration for French‑speaking learners.
• Develop and maintain project plans for multi‑stage translation initiatives, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Manage French versions of SharePoint sites, including pages, articles, and libraries.
• Participate in project meetings, report metrics, and evaluate progress.
• Mentor volunteers and interns, coordinating high‑volume translation efforts.
• Support additional translation needs across other teams as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field).
• 3–5 years of professional translation experience.
• Strong attention to detail, self‑starter attitude, and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Computer‑Aided Translation (CAT) tools.
• Basic knowledge of SharePoint site design/development.
• Microsoft Office suite.
