Analyst – Advice for Small Businesses Programme

About the role

The Analyst will support the EBRD Advice for Small Businesses (ASB) Programme in Benin, contributing to the full advisory project cycle from initiation to evaluation. Working closely with the Principal Manager and senior team members, the role involves client interaction, project structuring, and coordination with consultants and partner banks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, monitor and evaluate advisory activities in line with EBRD policies, donor requirements and ethical standards.
• Analyse SME clients’ financial statements and growth prospects to shape impactful advisory support and prepare them for financing.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of high‑quality clients and projects in priority areas such as digitalisation, green economy and inclusion.
• Coordinate with local consultants, partner financial institutions and internal teams to ensure synergy between advisory services and banking products.
• Prepare internal and donor reports, support donor proposals and manage visibility and marketing activities for the ASB programme.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related field.
• Strong business and financial analytical skills with the ability to interpret accounts and conduct financial analysis.
• Excellent project management, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills; fluency in English and the local language.
• Willingness to travel within Benin and internationally as required.

• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
