About the role
The Civil Peace Service (CPS) Advisor will support the West Africa programme that promotes social cohesion and peaceful, sustainable use of natural resources in Niger and Benin. The role focuses on planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning (PME) to ensure the programme achieves its objectives in conflict‑prone, pastoralist contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement PME frameworks aligned with programme goals.
- Collect, analyse and report on quantitative and qualitative indicators.
- Conduct periodic evaluations and synthesize lessons learned for programme improvement.
- Support municipalities and regional authorities in applying governance schemes for natural resource use.
- Facilitate local dialogue structures and contribute to conflict‑transformation activities.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and promote representation of land producers’ interests.
Required profile
- University degree in social sciences, development studies, peacebuilding, environmental studies or a related field.
- Proven experience in planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning within development or peace‑building projects.
- Familiarity with natural‑resource governance and pastoralist contexts in West Africa.
- Strong analytical abilities and capacity to work with diverse civil‑society and government partners.
- Excellent communication skills in English; French is an advantage.
