Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Instructor - Benin

About the role

Amentum, a global services partner supporting defense, security, intelligence, energy and environment programs, is acting as contract service provider to the U.S. Department of Justice's ICITAP and OPDAT programs. It is seeking an Open Source Intelligence Instructor in Cotonou, Benin, to train and mentor the Benin Police Républicaine's CIAT intelligence analysts so they can independently carry out counterterrorism-focused OSINT and social-media intelligence analysis. This is an independent contractor position.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver basic to intermediate OSINT and social-media analysis training, using scenario-based exercises and individual or team presentations, adapted to the terrorism threat environment in the Sahel and coastal West Africa
• Mentor CIAT analysts and advise them on counterterrorism operations and investigations
• Collaborate with other Benin counterterrorism instructors and mentors
• Prepare training materials in Microsoft Word for French translation by the ICITAP Benin team
• Help draft OSINT and social media analysis SOP recommendations with CIAT supervisors
• Recommend open-source or commercial software for OSINT and social media analysis
• Support mentoring and performance monitoring plans, monitor project indicators and compile data
• Draft written reports of training and mentoring activities for ICITAP monthly and quarterly reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional qualifications
• 10 years of documented experience in intelligence analysis for counterterrorism, counterdrug, human trafficking, organized crime or corrections, with emphasis on OSINT and social-media analysis, supporting a law enforcement agency, private intelligence organization or academic institution
• Experience training and mentoring in austere environments and adapting to country needs
• Experience presenting and training through language translators
• Previous experience researching, testing and defining requirements for OSINT and social media analysis software
• Desired: Master's degree and French language skills
