Senior Malaria Advisor – LEAP Global (Benin)

About the role

The Senior Malaria Advisor will be embedded within Benin's National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to provide technical leadership for life‑saving malaria prevention and treatment services. Reporting to the NMCP Coordinator and the U.S. Department of State, the Advisor will ensure alignment with the latest Presidential Executive Order directives and support sustainable, cost‑effective program delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert malaria technical guidance to the NMCP and Ministry of Health.
• Assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring malaria control interventions.
• Identify programmatic bottlenecks and propose coordinated solutions.
• Support development of national malaria strategies, work plans, and policy documents.
• Report weekly and monthly progress to the U.S. Department of State.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in malaria control, public health, or infectious disease programs.
• Proven ability to work within government ministries and international development settings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
