Senior Policy Associate – Evidence‑Based Policymaking

About the role

J-PAL Africa is looking for a Senior Policy Associate to strengthen evidence‑informed policymaking, particularly through its partnership with the Government of Benin. The role combines project development, implementation, and technical assistance to ensure policies are grounded in rigorous research.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and scope partnership opportunities for evidence generation, scale‑up and policy impact.
• Maintain and deepen relationships with government officials, researchers and implementation partners.
• Coordinate and manage policy projects, including design of data collection, synthesis of evidence and co‑creation of interventions.
• Facilitate stakeholder convenings, ensuring alignment among policymakers, affiliates, contractors and team members.
• Maintain up‑to‑date expertise on evidence and policy priorities, and disseminate findings to relevant audiences.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong analytical capacity to translate research into actionable policy recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with government agencies or international research networks.
