Country Finance & HR Manager – Benin (Beninese Nationals Only)

About the role

The Country Finance & HR Manager will oversee the daily financial, human‑resource and risk‑management functions of CIVIC’s Benin/Togo field office. The role reports to the Country Director and supports staff, consultants and the headquarters with payroll, accounting, benefits and security coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, process and record monthly payroll, including taxes and withholdings.
• Receive, approve, investigate and process invoices and staff reimbursements.
• Maintain communication with headquarters, vendors and banks; reconcile monthly bank statements.
• Track office assets and prepare financial schedules and reports for headquarters.
• Ensure compliance with national financial regulations and submit required tax forms.
• Manage new‑hire documentation, benefits enrollment and monthly benefits administration.
• Prepare contracts and paperwork for consultants and monitor timely payments.
• Coordinate staff travel arrangements, monitor security alerts and conduct regular check‑ins during travel.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in finance and/or human resources, preferably in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with Benin national financial regulations and tax compliance.
• Excellent communication skills in English (and French preferred).
