Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Fixed Term, Cotonou

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations provides strategic business partnership to the Head of Office, ensuring UNICEF’s assets are used efficiently and effectively to deliver results for children in Benin. This senior P-4 position is a fixed‑term appointment based in Cotonou.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Office in managing day‑to‑day operations and monitoring programme delivery.
• Lead, manage and develop the Operations team to build a fit‑for‑purpose, agile workforce.
• Champion value‑for‑money initiatives and strategic resource allocation.
• Enhance risk management practices and strengthen internal controls.
• Drive operational centralisation and optimisation for efficiency gains.
• Strengthen internal and external partnerships and provide financial oversight across the office.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Public Finance, or related fields.
• Professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA, Expert Comptable) with valid membership in good standing.
• Extensive experience in senior operations, finance, or supply‑chain functions within an international organization.
