Portfolio Officer – Women ADAPT Project

About the role

The Portfolio Officer will lead the planning, coordination and implementation of the Women ADAPT project, a two‑year initiative aimed at strengthening climate resilience of women‑led MSMEs, cooperatives and smallholder farmers in Benin and Burkina Faso. Reporting to AECF and working closely with UNIDO and the Project Steering Committee, the officer ensures delivery of results in line with approved work plans, budgets and timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day implementation of the Women ADAPT project, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.
• Oversee project financial management, including budgeting, expenditure tracking and compliance with reporting requirements.
• Design and implement the Monitoring & Evaluation framework, manage data collection and track performance.
• Develop, update and manage annual work plans, budgets and implementation schedules.
• Monitor progress against targets, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Serve as Secretariat to the Project Steering Committee, organizing meetings and documenting decisions.
• Prepare technical and financial reports for UNIDO and the Steering Committee.
• Coordinate engagement with UNIDO, government partners, private sector actors and beneficiaries.
• Manage procurement and contracting for consultants and service providers in line with AECF and UNIDO guidelines.
• Lead communication, knowledge management and visibility activities to share results and lessons learned.
• Support AECF resource mobilization efforts.

Required profile

• At least a bachelor’s degree in economics, development finance, development studies, business, commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in end‑to‑end project management, business advisory, enterprise development or private‑sector development.
• Experience in climate‑change adaptation, climate‑smart agriculture or resilience programming is preferred.
