Post-MDA Coverage Evaluation Survey Consultant (Onchocerciasis)

About the role

Sightsavers is seeking an independent consultancy team to conduct a Post‑Mass Drug Administration (MDA) Coverage Evaluation Survey (CES) for onchocerciasis in Benin. The team will validate the 2026 MDA coverage, generate evidence‑based recommendations, and ensure transparency of the survey process.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a large‑scale, population‑based household survey covering eligible individuals aged five years and above.
• Apply cluster sampling and complex survey design methodologies to ensure statistical robustness.
• Supervise field teams, manage data collection, and ensure quality control throughout the survey period (10 Aug 2026 – 9 Nov 2026).
• Analyse survey data using advanced statistical techniques and produce a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate with the Benin Ministry of Health and the NTD Programme to align findings with WHO standards.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) with a Master’s in Public Health, Epidemiology, Tropical Medicine, Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field; PhD highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in public‑health epidemiology, programme evaluation, and statistical analysis of health data.
• Proven track record designing and supervising coverage evaluation surveys in sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Familiarity with Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) programmes and WHO guidelines.
