Database Administration Engineer

About the role

The Database Administration Engineer will support the delivery and lifecycle of SCADA/AEMS/ADMS solutions for energy and industrial clients in Benin. The role combines technical expertise with customer interaction to ensure successful project implementation, go‑live readiness, and post‑deployment support.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, implementation and testing of SCADA, AEMS, ADMS and related data‑modelling solutions.
• Own technical deliverables throughout project phases, including FAT/SAT, site commissioning, end‑to‑end tests and customer training.
• Collaborate with clients to assess needs, propose workflow and interface improvements, and ensure go‑live readiness.
• Provide post‑live support, issue resolution and continuous improvement of deployed systems.

Required profile

• Engineer, Master or Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Computer Science.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with SCADA/AEMS/ADMS, WAMS data modelling and direct client communication.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Willingness to travel up to 15 % of the time.

• SCADA, AEMS, ADMS, WAMS, CIM (formats 13‑16) knowledge.
• Windows and Linux administration.
• SQL databases, GE/Alstom DBs, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
• Virtualization platforms: VMware, Citrix, Hyper‑V.
• Network protocols (TCP/IP) and industrial protocols (IEC).
• Scripting languages: Perl, Bash, Python, PowerShell, VBScript.
• Programming languages: C, C++, C#, Java.
• Agile and DevOps practices.
