Engineering Technician (Production) – Grade A

About the role

The South African Navy seeks a permanent Engineering Technician (Production) – Grade A to join the Fleet Command Headquarters at Naval Engineering Services in Simon’s Town. The role provides item specification, drawing, technical investigation and information support services for naval projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain detailed item specifications and engineering drawings.
• Conduct technical investigations to resolve design and production issues.
• Provide information support and documentation for engineering projects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare and present technical reports in English.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• At least three years of post‑qualification technical experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Current compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician.
• Strong interpersonal and decision‑making abilities.
