Factory Manager - Benin Site

About the role

TRT Industries, established in 2018 and based in Mauritius, develops, acquires and grows businesses in manufacturing, sales and distribution, technology business solutions and property. It manufactures and distributes home care, personal care and health care products and serves African and international markets. The Factory Manager is responsible for establishing, developing and efficiently managing the Benin manufacturing site. Reporting to the General Manager, the role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational management, covering production, safety, quality, financial targets and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site establishment, including infrastructure setup, equipment installation and regulatory compliance, and deliver the site on time and within budget
• Recruit, onboard and train a diverse workforce, and mentor the local team
• Ensure production plans are delivered at the right cost per unit (CPU) and meet client requirements, while managing daily schedules and corrective actions
• Maintain quality control standards and a safety-first culture with full compliance with health and safety protocols
• Run effective maintenance schedules, monitor OEE and minimise unplanned downtime
• Manage inventory accuracy, GMP housekeeping and efficient inventory control
• Develop and manage site budgets, monitor KPIs and control production costs
• Implement a risk management framework and ensure legal and regulatory compliance
• Engage with local authorities, suppliers, clients and the community, and monitor supplier performance

Required profile

• Fluency in English and French is mandatory
