Investment Officer - Manufacturing & Services West Africa

About the role

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is seeking an Investment Officer to lead private‑sector investments in manufacturing and services across Benin and West Africa. Reporting to the World Bank Group Country Manager and co‑supervising with the MAS Manufacturing/Services West Africa Manager, you will drive project origination, advisory, and financing activities that align with IFC’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and originate corporate and project‑finance investment opportunities in manufacturing (e.g., construction materials, chemicals, textiles) and services (e.g., retail, tourism, health, education).
• Prepare investment memoranda, pitch books, and presentations for workshops, conferences, and high‑level meetings.
• Manage relationships with government officials, business leaders, and other stakeholders to facilitate deal flow.
• Contribute to sector strategy formulation and knowledge dissemination within the West Africa region.
• Support advisory services and provide technical assistance to portfolio companies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate finance, project finance, or investment banking, preferably with exposure to emerging markets.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
• Fluent in English and French.
