Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist (West Africa)

About the role

Optasia is seeking a Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist to support its fintech platform across West Africa. The role will act as the first line of defense, helping the company navigate regulatory changes, manage compliance risk, and foster an ethical culture.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact with regulators, monitoring new regulations, reporting obligations and prudential guidelines that affect operations.
• Lead horizon‑scanning activities to identify upcoming regulatory changes and communicate early warnings to internal teams.
• Assist the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance and Regional Compliance Managers in strategy execution and risk assessments.
• Conduct structured compliance assessments, evaluate regulatory risk exposure, and support the implementation of a robust governance framework.
• Develop and deliver training, awareness programs, and internal communications to embed a culture of compliance.
• Prepare marketing materials, training programs, and presentations that align with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic professional with a results‑driven, can‑do attitude.
• Strong understanding of fintech, micro‑finance, and regulatory environments in West Africa.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to work collaboratively across departments.
