Storekeeper GS4

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is recruiting a Storekeeper (GS4) based in Bohicon, Benin. Reporting generally to the Programme Associate and technically to the Logistics Officer, the Storekeeper keeps the programme's stores running smoothly, manages food and non-food supplies and supports the supply chain at the warehouse level.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the Logistics Execution Support System (LESS) up to date: record all store transactions, print and dispatch outbound delivery documents and loading orders, and track shipments to beneficiary countries and advanced distribution points.
• Record, archive and reconcile monthly physical stocktakes in the warehouses of the PAM and partner schools, and follow up on partner NGO use of the stock management system.
• Manage the warehouse: supervise receipt and dispatch of food and non-food products, keep transaction registers accurate, verify stock physically and follow WFP handling procedures.
• Monitor supplier and transport provider performance, advise deployed service providers, and train NGOs and community committees on stock and store management.
• Coordinate with the logistics assistant to visit schools and distribution centres periodically, and produce reports on stock movements, inventory, orders and key performance indicators.
• Maintain good condition of store equipment and non-food items, and ensure quality control measures are followed.

Required profile

• Béninois nationality or a valid work permit.
• Secondary school diploma (BAC or equivalent).
• At least four years of experience in transport, logistics, warehousing and stock management, or a similar post.
• Experience with the United Nations or another international organisation.
