Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in a large UNICEF country office, acting as a strategic business partner to ensure effective use of UNICEF assets and delivery of results for children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead results‑oriented initiatives and drive organisational change.
• Provide risk‑informed, solution‑focused analysis and advice on management practices.
• Support the Head of Office in managing day‑to‑day office operations and monitoring programmes.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF policies, equity strategy and sound financial and logistical practices.
• Collaborate with senior management to align operations with office priorities and goals.

Required profile

• Professional level P4/NOD with substantial experience in operations or programme management within a UN or similar humanitarian organisation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, analyse complex situations and provide strategic recommendations.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s equity strategy and commitment to child rights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills in a multicultural environment.
