Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in managing UNICEF’s country office in Cotonou. This senior position, at P4/NOD level, acts as a strategic business partner, ensuring efficient use of assets and alignment with UNICEF’s mission to promote children’s rights.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office in overseeing day‑to‑day operations and programme delivery.
• Provide risk‑informed analysis and advice to improve office performance.
• Monitor and report on operational efficiency, resource utilisation, and compliance with UNICEF policies.
• Lead change initiatives and support innovative management practices.
• Coordinate with senior management to align operational priorities with strategic goals.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public administration, international development or a related field.
• Significant experience in senior operational management within an international organisation.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on results.
