Strategic Advisor

About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Advisor to support the Secretary General of the West African Power Pool (WAPP) Secretariat. The role is based in Abomey-Calavi, Benin, and offers the chance to influence regional renewable‑energy policy and integration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level strategic advice to the Secretary General on institutional capacity building.
• Lead strategic planning, coordination of priority initiatives, and resource mobilization.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with regional stakeholders and donors.
• Strengthen institutional relations and support strategic decision‑making.
• Ensure alignment between WAPP’s strategic directions and operational implementation.

Required profile

• Visionary senior energy executive with 20+ years of strategic advisory experience.
• Bilingual in English and French.
• Proven ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
• Track record of mobilising regional partnerships and translating complex energy integration goals into actionable plans.
• Passion for renewable energy and climate‑change mitigation.
