Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) will support the Head of Office in Cotonou, Benin, overseeing the efficient use of UNICEF assets and ensuring sound management practices. This six‑month temporary appointment is a strategic business‑partner position within the senior management team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office in managing day‑to‑day operations and monitoring programme delivery.
• Provide advice on innovative management practices to improve office performance.
• Lead risk‑informed decision‑making and ensure compliance with UNICEF policies.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to align operational priorities with UNICEF’s equity strategy.
• Support financial and logistical planning for country‑level activities.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public administration, international development, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in operations, administration, or programme management, preferably in an international organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and to lead change.
