Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) is a senior, temporary appointment (6 months) in UNICEF’s country office in Cotonou. Reporting to the Head of Office, the incumbent acts as a strategic business partner, supporting the management of office assets, operations and programme delivery to achieve results for children.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office in overseeing day‑to‑day office management and operational performance.
• Monitor and coordinate programme implementation, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s strategic priorities.
• Provide advice on innovative and sound management practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage risk information, support decision‑making and ensure compliance with UNICEF policies.
• Facilitate resource allocation and asset utilisation to maximize impact.

Required profile

• Professional experience at P‑4/NOD level within a large UNICEF country office or comparable international organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a senior management team and support senior leadership.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s equity strategy and operational frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
