Program Director – BeninKarite Program

About the role

TechnoServe is seeking a dynamic Program Director to lead the five‑year BeninKarite initiative in Cotonou, Benin. The program aims to strengthen the competitiveness, inclusiveness, and sustainability of Benin’s shea sector while advancing women’s economic empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall implementation and management of the program from inception to close‑out, ensuring achievement of goals, objectives, and targets.
• Provide strategic guidance, leadership, and technical oversight throughout the program lifecycle.
• Develop operational efficiencies and drive innovations in program delivery.
• Oversee timely development and submission of project deliverables within budget.
• Recruit, lead, manage, and supervise delivery teams, including long‑ and short‑term staff and consortium partners.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the donor, Benin government entities, implementing partners, and other stakeholders.
• Act as spokesperson for the program, presenting its work regionally and globally.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in International Development, Business Administration, or a related field with at least eight years of professional experience (or bachelor’s degree with twelve years).
• Minimum five years of experience in women’s economic empowerment and market‑systems development.
• Proven experience leading and managing large teams in senior roles such as Team Leader, Chief of Party, or Program Director.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
