Consultant for Technology Translation Toolkit for TAAT

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) seeks a qualified consultant to design and deliver a Technology Translation Toolkit that will convert validated agricultural technologies into structured learning pathways for the TAAT programme. The toolkit will support Training‑of‑Trainers (ToT) and cascade training across multiple stakeholder groups.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing TAAT materials and training resources to identify reusable components.
• Design a Technology Translation Framework that standardises the conversion of scientific knowledge into learning products.
• Develop a repeatable process and templates for ToT and cascade training.
• Create a family of learning materials (guides, facilitator notes, visual aids) suitable for master trainers, national trainers, extension officers, and farmers.
• Ensure the toolkit maintains technical accuracy while allowing adaptation for different learner groups.

Required profile

• Proven experience in instructional design or curriculum development for agricultural or technical subjects.
• Familiarity with Training‑of‑Trainers (ToT) and cascade capacity‑building approaches.
• Strong understanding of agricultural technologies and their validation processes.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality outputs within agreed timelines.
