Database Administration Engineer (SCADA/AEMS/ADMS)

About the role

Gevernova is hiring a Database Administration Engineer in Cotonou, Benin. The role provides expertise in customer success and growth after sales, covering training, professional services, technical support, renewals, retention and expansion with a digital focus. It is accountable for the quality of its own work and operates within a defined operations framework.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of SCADA/AEMS/ADMS solutions and own technical deliverables throughout project lifecycles.
• Take part in decisions on architecture, design and functionality to keep projects on track for budget, time and customer expectations.
• Work with clients to understand their needs, assess sites and tailor strategies, and give recommendations on workflows, applications, interfaces, reports, testing and uploads.
• Ensure go-live readiness and support, and carry out post-live checkups with internal team members and clients.
• Act as an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills, giving informal guidance to new team members.

Required profile

• Engineer, Master's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Computer Science.
• At least 4 years of experience with similar technologies in the energy or industrial field.
• Proven experience with AEMS/ADMS and WAMS data modelling.
• Direct client communication is mandatory.
• Fluent French and English; advanced English (written and spoken).
• Availability for travel of 10-15% of the time (max 1 month per year); relocation assistance is not provided.

Required skills

• SCADA, AEMS, ADMS, WAMS and EMS alarm/network/generation/simulation knowledge.
• CIM knowledge across multiple CIM formats (13/14/15/16) and software integration.
• Windows or Linux administration, SQL databases and GE/Alstom DBs.
• RDBMS: Oracle, MSSQL Server; virtualization (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V).
• Network protocols (TCP/IP), basic scripting (Perl, Bash, Python, PowerShell, VBScript) and programming (C, C++, C#, Java).
• IEC protocol or other industrial protocols, diagnostic skills, Agile and DevOps.
